The case came to light in November 2024, when Jamilee Hunt and the baby’s father, Jason Santos, called emergency services claiming the girl wasn’t breathing and attempting to blame their dog for her severe injuries.
However, doctors found fractures in her ribs and limbs at different stages of healing, along with a brain injury and clear evidence of sexual assault.
Both were arrested shortly after, and on April 24, a jury found Hunt guilty, just days after Santos was sentenced to life in prison.
Prosecutors highlighted that Hunt cruelly failed as the infant’s protector; the baby miraculously survived and is now recovering under new guardianship.
Jamilee is scheduled to receive her final sentence on May 6. ⚖️
