A teenager named Anna Aleshkovka lived for almost a year with a 15-centimeter worm lodged in her face without knowing exactly what was happening to her.
The strange case was reported by British media in May 2026 and occurred after the young woman began to notice swelling, pain, and strange movements under the skin of her face.
After several medical examinations, doctors discovered that it was a parasite that had entered her body and was still growing. Finally, the worm was removed through a medical procedure and the young woman was able to recover.
