“There was no romantic relationship”, the defense says. Fernando’s family cannot believe it 😔

Fernando Pastorizzo was 20 years old when he was shot dead in Gualeguaychú, Entre Ríos, in late 2017. His girlfriend, Nahir Galarza, then 19 years old, was sentenced to life in prison in July 2018 for the crime.

Nearly nine years later, her lawyer filed a new legal appeal seeking to overturn the aggravating factor of their relationship.
The defense argues that there was no romantic relationship under legal standards and challenges the computer forensic examination that was key during the trial, claiming that the person in charge of conducting it did not have the required credentials.

They also argue that a gender perspective was not applied to analyze the context of the relationship.

If the appeal moves forward, the sentence could be reduced and Nahir Galarza could have the possibility of being released from prison before serving her life sentence.

Fernando Pastorizzo’s family continues to hope that the justice system will not backtrack. 😔⚖️
