Metallica Rose Harrison was 27 when police arrived at a room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, Pennsylvania, on Monday, October 12, 2026. She had made the 911 call herself, according to coverage citing the NY Post and Fox: she asked for help taking her own life.

Inside, they found her husband, Charles “Chaz” Harrison, 36, and her 3-year-old son Tristan, dead from multiple stab wounds. A probable cause affidavit states that there were knives, blood, and medication in the room. Metallica is charged with both deaths.

Her stepmother, April Thetga, says the family used Chaz’s 401(k) to finance three weeks at the resort, as well as a kitchen renovation. The trip had been presented as an early Christmas gift for Tristan. Thetga does not know whether the money was withdrawn or borrowed, or whether Chaz knew the account’s status.

What troubles her most are the knives. According to her, they match a set from the house in Towanda. Resort employees reportedly confirmed they did not belong to the hotel. “This was definitely planned”, she said. The day before, there was a cheerful video call with the family.
Premeditation is the stepmother’s hypothesis. The motive has not been confirmed.
