Danni Bruce just wanted a nice tan before summer.
She was 20 years old, lived in Nottingham, England, and bought a self-tanner for just 3.99 pounds (about 5 dollars). Like anyone ambitious with these things, she did not choose the medium or dark shade: she went straight for “Darker than Dark”, the most intense in the line. She applied just one layer. Five minutes later, her skin was no longer golden — it was green. A deep, even green, impossible to hide.

She tried washing it off, scrubbing, waiting for it to go away on its own. Nothing worked. She ended up shut inside her house with her hood up, avoiding mirrors and questions. When she finally uploaded the photos to social media, the internet showed no mercy: they compared her to Hulk, Shrek, and every green creature they could think of. 😂🥑

Free moral: if the bottle says “darker than dark”, it probably does not mean the color you imagine.
