Jessica Rout did not see it coming.
A video of her started circulating on X, and someone wrote that at first they thought it was content generated with artificial intelligence. Too different, too unusual to be real. But Jessica, 29, from Hull, England, is real, and so is her abdomen.
Since adolescence, her body has had that shape, even when she weighed less. Over time, a doctor explained the reason: she lives with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue condition that affects skin elasticity. She previously tried to hide it under clothing and even considered surgery. Today she does the opposite: she wears what she calls ‘belly approved fashion’ and shows her stomach without filters on @jesslourx_, the account she opened in 2022 so that other women with bodies like hers can finally feel represented.
