Cecilia Valdés, 44, executive director of the Association of Casinos and Gaming in Chile, has spent 12 years among bicycles, running shoes, and triathlons. She missed the Santiago Marathon because her body had not yet digested the Ironman in Puerto Varas, but that was not what sparked the conversation.
What divided opinions was something else: she said plainly that she chose not to have children in order to devote her time to work and high-performance sports. A decision she made before getting married and says she has never questioned.
