The most painful clip of the week on social media shows a shirtless construction worker, wearing sunglasses and a camouflage cap, suffering an accident that many described as “the worst of his life”, when, while screwing two wooden planks into a roof structure, his testicles got trapped between both pieces, causing the man to start trembling in pain as he tried to react without falling from the height at which he was working.
Images of the unusual accident quickly went viral, and while some viewers felt empathy for someone else’s pain, others couldn’t help but laugh at the situation, generating a mix of reactions that included everything from funny memes to dark humor jokes, but also serious warnings about the importance of using the proper protective equipment in construction work.
The fact that the worker was doing his job without a safety harness and at a height greater than 6 feet made the scene even more dangerous, and although the man managed to free himself on his own, the video remained as a reminder of why safety rules exist in modern construction and what can happen when someone decides to risk everything.
