A construction worker named Yang Ming, 37, was at the center of an almost unreal rescue in 2016 in Chengdu, China. After receiving a strong electric shock, the man fell from his workstation and ended up impaled by a 1.2-meter metal rod that entered through his anal area and stopped just below his right shoulder.

According to reports from Sichuan University West China Hospital, Ming arrived at the emergency room conscious. After seven hours of surgery, doctors managed to remove the object, which miraculously did not critically damage any vital organs. Yang was able to recover after losing barely half a liter of blood in an accident that seemed fatal.

Do you believe in miracles, or was it simply the surgical precision of fate?
