“Block those shots!”, “What a finish!”. No, those aren’t shouts from the stands: they’re the slogans printed on the limited-edition condoms that Toronto will hand out for free during the FIFA 2026 World Cup. 🎉

Toronto Public Health launched the CondomTO campaign with six soccer-themed designs — one of them featuring a peach and an eggplant in front of a goal — available with no appointment or requirements at four sexual health clinics and community centers across the city. The initiative is aimed at the more than 300,000 visitors expected between June 11 and July 19, 2026, when Toronto will host six matches of the tournament.

Dr. Michelle Murti, the city’s medical officer of health, explained that the goal is to promote safe sex and reduce the stigma around sexual health. It’s not the first time: CondomTO already did something similar during the 2015 Pan American Games. Apparently, when Toronto hosts a massive event, it also thinks about what happens after the match. ⚽
