Mikey Wright, a 24-year-old Australian surfer, was filming the fury of the sea in Hawaii when he noticed a woman disappearing among giant waves more than 4.5 meters high and volcanic rocks capable of tearing anyone apart.
The current was so wild that several people on the beach shouted that it was impossible to save her. But Mikey just handed over his phone, jumped a fence, and ran straight into the ocean as if he were stepping into a movie. The video shows how both of them disappear again and again under the water while the waves crashed down on them with brutal force.
And against all odds, he came out carrying her alive to the shore. “I didn’t think about the danger”, he later confessed.
