Robyn was out shopping, without a wig, when she ran into the iconic Rihanna. Upset about not having “her hair on”, the woman apologized for “looking terrible” before asking her for a photo.

Rihanna didn’t let her finish the sentence. She looked at her and said something the woman wasn’t expecting: “You don’t have to apologize to anyone. You’re fire just the way you are.” Then she complimented her hairline, as if it were the most natural thing in the world to talk about in the middle of a supermarket.

Robyn, still surprised, asked if she could quote her and take a photo. Rihanna’s response was as direct as the rest of the encounter: “Of course.” Sharing a name connected them for a moment, but it was those words that stayed with her.
