More than twenty years ago, Ronaldinho passed the ball to a skinny 17-year-old boy, and Messi scored his first official goal for Barcelona. It was on May 1, 2005, at Camp Nou.
Ahead of Messi’s final match with the national team, Ronaldinho posted a message on his social media: “What a pleasure and joy it has been to be part of your story from day one, brother”.
“You made us smile and enjoy football so much”. Ronaldinho also spoke about what only the two of them understand: “Only we know the joy we felt when we fulfilled our childhood dream”.
“Representing our entire nation and becoming world champions”. He achieved it with Brazil in 2002; Messi, with Argentina in Qatar 2022. “You gave everything for your national team and your country. I wish you all the best, today and always”, Dinho concluded.
