Thakku is only 6 years old, and she has already learned to walk among looks that judge before getting to know her.
At 6 months old, she was diagnosed with Cutis Laxa, a rare condition that affects her skin and gives her an appearance much older than her actual age. At school, some children began to distance themselves from her, and they even told her parents to keep her at home. They refused to let other people’s opinions decide their daughter’s future.
Today, Thakku dances, sings, plays with her friends, and draws doctors because she dreams of becoming one. Her father works as a security guard, and paying for treatments and medical appointments has become increasingly difficult for the family. Even so, she continues to smile, supported by a dream that no one has managed to take away from her.
