Ciro Barrera is 11 years old and lives in Neuquén, Argentina. 🇦🇷

For months, he faced an aggressive osteosarcoma that began in the femur and progressed with metastases in the lungs. Chemotherapy, surgeries, Hospital Austral de Pilar as a second home, and a solidarity campaign under the slogan “Everyone for Ciro”, supported by his family and complete strangers.

His parents recorded the exact moment when they read him the results of his latest tests. His mother sits him on the bed, asks whether he remembers the tests, and then says the phrase he had waited months to hear: “You did it”. Ciro breaks down in tears and finds refuge in her arms. 🥹

In the middle of the hug, she reminds him of something you should also keep in mind: the family provides support, but he was the one who went through every procedure alone. “There are videos that don’t need too many words; your outpouring says it all”, she later wrote. Today, his lungs are clear. 🎗️
