A video captured on a street in Uruguay last weekend shows the exact moment calm disappears. It all started as an exchange of insults, but the atmosphere changed when a trans girl, shouting “you won’t be able to handle me!”, hurled a plastic chair straight at another woman.
After that impact, the situation went from a quarrel to a full-blown brawl. A group of men who were nearby decided to intervene in the worst way. What had been an argument ended in a group beating with shoving and shouting, while witnesses recorded it on their cell phones.
