At 10 years old, Eden already knew it.
While other girls played with their favorite doll, she felt that something didn’t fit between her body and who she really was. Years later, after hormone treatment and several surgeries, she became the woman she had always carried inside, and her resemblance to that childhood doll, Barbie, ended up being so astonishing that today she is called “Eden the Doll” and is followed by nearly 120.000 people on Instagram.

But the most curious thing isn’t her face. It’s what happened when she met Matt, a waiter in Miami who rescued her from a group of persistent guys. After hours of conversation and an immediate connection, Eden faced the moment every trans person fears: telling her complete story. She kept it to herself and hesitated, until a slip-up by her friend revealed everything before she could do so in her own words.

What followed was not the rejection she feared. Matt has a phrase that sums it all up: “You can’t look at her honestly and say she isn’t a woman”.
