Claudia Yasmín spent years unable to sleep through an entire night.
She has Treacher Collins syndrome, a genetic condition that affects the bones and tissues of the face, and which in her case made it difficult for her to breathe, chew, and rest normally.

In Chile, the surgery she needed was considered cosmetic, so the public healthcare system did not cover it. She had to ask for help: she launched a campaign on TikTok to raise 38 million Chilean pesos (about 40.000 dollars) and got hundreds of people to join her cause. 🙏

When she finally raised the money, she underwent surgery. And when she shared the result, she made it clear that the change was not only in her face: “You are going to see that my face changed, but for me the result means much more: breathing better, being able to eat normally, sleeping without choking, and, for the first time, waking up truly rested”, she said.
Throughout her life, she learned to live with one face. Now she is learning to recognize herself in a new one. ✨
