Chiara Dell’Abate is 23 years old and no longer has a nose.
In its place are two openings, the result of one more surgery in a list that already exceeds 30 procedures. Her nipples were removed, her navel was erased, horns were implanted in her forehead, and four lumps were placed under her scalp. At 15, she had her tongue split, and today she slides it through two piercings above her mouth in a video that has racked up more than 67 million views on TikTok, where she is known as Aydin Mod.
She started at 11 with piercings and expanders. Since then, she has accumulated 72 piercings, tattoos on her eyeballs, pointed ears, and nails shaped like claws. Everything points to the same obsession: looking like a cat, or, as she prefers to put it, a “zombie human cat”.
“I am against natural beauty”, she declared from Italy. For her, each amputation is an evolution, not a loss. “Nothing is permanent because we are all going to die”, she said, just before announcing that her reduced nose made her feel “a little dead inside”.
