Melissa Dohme was 20 years old when her ex-partner, Robert Burton, stabbed her 32 times in Florida and left her dying in the middle of the street. Doctors resuscitated her several times on the operating table. Her skull and jaw were broken, and her facial nerve was severed. She thought she would never be loved again.
