Sofía López didn’t know that someone was waiting for her outside.
When she went to collect her university diploma, there was her grandmother, standing with a bouquet of flowers that she herself had cut that morning from her own garden.
She hadn’t bought them at a flower shop or asked for them to be delivered. She had grown them, cared for them, and cut them with her own hands for that exact moment.
Sofía recorded the encounter and shared it on social media, where the gesture moved hundreds of users. “This was also for you and because of you… I’ll keep this memory in my heart and that lump in my throat I felt when I saw you waiting for me with the flowers from your garden”, she later wrote. Some things cannot be bought; they are planted over time. ❤️
