She went out to film the celebration and ended up recording a crime. 📱 A YouTuber was making her way through the World Cup Grand Parade on June 13 along Paseo de la Reforma, in Mexico City, with the camera on to capture the 2026 World Cup celebration.

What she didn’t know was that, at some point amid the crowd and the noise, her lens pointed at exactly the right place and the right moment.
Her friend was the victim. A thief snatched her phone in the middle of the thousands of attendees filling the avenue from the Diana Cazadora to the Monument to the Revolution, and it was all recorded without either of them realizing it at the time. 😮

It wasn’t the only case: YouTuber Iztaparrasta also reported the theft of his phone during the World Cup opening, and he found it at an unlocking shop in the Historic Center. The World Cup arrived in Mexico, and so did the pickpockets.

Una mujer salió a grabar la celebración por el triunfo de México y terminó captando, sin querer, el momento exacto en que le robaron el celular a su amiga. pic.twitter.com/X5qWLkbfjf
