A high-risk operation was carried out in South Africa, near Kruger National Park, following the disappearance of a businessman whose vehicle became trapped in floodwaters in the Komati River area.

During the search, police teams spotted a crocodile with a swollen abdomen and unusual behavior, raising suspicions that it might have swallowed the victim. The animal was put down and later removed by helicopter in a complex operation involving ropes, drones, and divers.

When examining the reptile’s body, about 4.5 meters long and weighing nearly 500 kilos, they found human remains inside, prompting DNA tests to confirm whether they belonged to the missing man.

Authorities also found several shoes inside the animal, suggesting possible previous attacks, although they clarified that this does not constitute definitive proof.
