Famous actor and martial artist Jackie Chan confessed that he didn’t want to work with Jaden Smith, Will Smith’s son, before filming began on The Karate Kid because he feared the young actor couldn’t handle the demands of training:
“I thought he was the typical celebrity kid—spoiled and undisciplined. If I couldn’t get my own son to train in martial arts, how was I going to get him to do it?”
“He never complained. He was professional, humble, and always willing to learn. He proved me wrong. In three months, he was doing what took me years to master. He taught me not to judge before getting to know someone. That kid earned my respect from the very first month,” said the action movie legend.
