Erika Herrera Coriand, the mother-in-law of former beauty queen Carolina Flores, is the main suspect in the young woman’s death in Mexico City. She had been on the run for days, but was recently found and arrested in Venezuela.
“In coordination with authorities in Venezuela, the arrest was carried out,” they shared on X from Mexico City Hall.
On the other hand, they also explained that Herrera is presumed “innocent until her responsibility is declared through a ruling issued by the corresponding judicial body.” However, she was accused because of the video that went viral on social media, in which gunshots can be heard while she was talking with the late beauty queen.
