Robinho Jr. and Neymar were embroiled in a controversy after the Santos youth player reported an assault during training, which angered Robinho from prison.
Although it seemed certain that this would lead to disciplinary action, it appears the issue was resolved between the players after Neymar scored in the Copa Sudamericana and went to celebrate with Robinho Jr.
During the celebration, Neymar hugged the young player before slapping him and shoving him, though all in a playful manner, as Robinho Jr. himself stated:
“I was hurt because he’s been my idol since I was a kid. The first gift he gave me was a jersey when I was eight, and I cried a lot. He was man enough to own up to his mistake, and I was man enough to sit down and talk it out. The apology is accepted.”
