“When I was in third grade, I slept in my mother’s room, afraid that my father would hurt her when he drank; he would end up screaming until dawn”, Sean Strickland said.

“I grew up without affection or guidance. When I bled in my first fight, I was happy. All that darkness was finally coming out with every punch,” the UFC fighter confessed about one of the darkest chapters of his life.
For many, fighting is a way out to get ahead financially; for others like Strickland, fighting is about surviving the demons that torment them — the sport is survival.
