Ryan Gould went to his building’s pool on May 2023, where everything seemed normal until he started arguing with a neighbor as they both swam. The exchange escalated and everything changed.
The situation got worse when the woman’s husband intervened and confronted Gould. According to the report, during the conflict he showed off his firearm, which increased the tension and sparked immediate fear on the pool in front of all the residents.
Feeling his safety at risk, Gould decided to call 911 to ask for help. As he waited for the police, the air was still charged, with the conflict still present and the presence of the gun.
When the officers arrived, however, the focus changed completely: despite being the person who called and being unarmed, Gould ended up cuffed and arrested. Even if he was released without charges, the episode ended in a lawsuit over this alleged civl rights violation.
