Neither sleep nor intimacy will ever be the same. Everything changes.
They say that when the arrival of a baby approaches, everything changes. From what you eat, to your routines, to your sleeping hours and, above all, to how your body changes as the pregnancy progresses. Bringing a new life into the world is a challenge, like a journey in which you are faced with new tests, and things that will never be the same again.
Artist Yehuda Devir knows this all too well, especially since he became a father for the first time two years ago. Since then, he’s been illustrating what life as parents has been like for him and his wife, Maya.
Now that their little girl is two years old, the couple is expecting a baby brother, and everything they experienced once is about to happen again.
But now, multiplied by two.
He depicted all of this in his new illustrations, in which he shows the whole process, from pregnancy to his little girl’s first steps and the pregnancy of their second child.
1. Romanticism is no longer what it used to be

2. And neither is quality time

3. The woman’s body changes

4. Hunger reaches new levels

5. And you get sleepier… even when just looking for some comfort

6. The thing is, having a belly is tiring

7. And sometimes you need help just to get out of bed

8. After giving birth, it can be hard to feel comfortable again with your body

9. And some days you need a break

10. Especially when you haven’t been able to sleep

11. Now there’s no longer two people sharing a bed, but three

12. And another person is added to couples’ time

13. You can’t keep your eye off your baby

14. Especially when he or she does something new

15. Sometimes you can’t help but close your eyes

16. A vaccine? It’s an entire ordeal

17. Not to mention those little wounds they’ll get when learning how to walk

18. Or when you realize that nothing is safe

19. And you better get used to a new kind of intimacy

20. Mischief is an everyday thing

21. But family time is priceless

22. Especially when it comes to entering new chapters

23. And new challenges

24. Like a new baby, for example

Because again you’ll be living a chaotic, but truly beautiful life.
