Wallace was 9 years old when Carol Nakamura met him at the end of 2019. She took him to spend a Christmas at her house and immediately knew that she had to become his mother.
Brazilian actress, Carol Nakamura, perhaps never thought that after a day of visiting and supporting a needy community in Duque de Caxias, in Rio de Janeiro, something would happen that would change her life forever. As a volunteer and ambassador of this area, she was prepared to bring joy to many children, just as she had done on previous occasions. However, it just so happened that she discovered a 9-year-old boy named Wallace in a desolate place. With his personality and story of a life full of deficiencies, the child immediately touched her heart.
This little boy from Rio de Janeiro had never gone to school. However, not even all the tough situations he’d gone through in his short nine years had taken away his kindness, sweetness, and his desire to become a veterinarian when he grew up.
This actress, dancer, and television presenter was impacted by Wallace’s life. She couldn’t imagine where she’d be without having had access to education. It was then that she decided to take him to her house for Christmas.
While celebrating the birth of the baby Jesus, she finally found in one child, in little Wallace, the member that she was missing in her family. He seemed so enchanted by the comfortable sofas, air conditioning, and the hot water that came out of the shower that she couldn’t help but do what was in her power to make that smile on his face last as long as possible. She decided to adopt him, without imagining all the learnings and lessons she’d acquire thanks to him. She’s been sharing all of them from day one through her account on her Instagram.
Today, she and her partner, Guilherme Leonel, are Wallace’s parents. They’ve made sure he has access to the best education and that he participates in a lot of sports. In addition, this child has taught them to be more grateful for what they have and given them a better understanding of the word “love.”
