It’s been three years since Joshua Gael Camacho was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He received support from his family, friends and even strangers.

Cecilia Govea used her Facebook account to share some great and happy news: her son, Joshua Gael Camacho, beat cancer and attended his last day of chemotherapy. Three years ago, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and spent two years and 10 months in treatment, supported by the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer and Leukemia (Apanical).

The woman from Juarez City, Mexico, celebrated in several posts and also expressed her gratitude. In one of her captions she wrote: “Today, I want to thank all the people who joined this struggle. There were 152 chemotherapies and we’re finally done. Infinite thanks for so much support. I can now say, we beat you, cancer.”

According to El Diario, after her post, some businesses are trying to locate the family to celebrate this “great warrior” with his family. As soon as Gael’s story went viral, several businesses sought to celebrate with the family, trying to contact them through social media to offer them some gifts.

Versailles School also wanted to support little Joshua and they wrote on their Facebook account: “Versailles family, thank you for joining all our forces and prayers so that Gaelito could overcome this battle. Thank God he finished his chemotherapies. Thank you to all his fellow friends and alumni, all the staff and family. There’s power in numbers. Gael: we will always be on your side.”

Although the road to recovery was hard for Gael, he had the support and love of volunteers, companies, and even organized a hamburger fundraiser in August of last year to raise money for his medical tests.

The family received the news of his illness on October 13, 2017, so every Monday they visited Apanical so that Gael could undergo the chemotherapy treatment that he recently finished.
