Head coach John Calipari said on Twitter that the man met his son as soon as his work shift was over, not having had enough time to change beforehand in order to be able to be with him at the sporting event, which brought back memories of his family.
We keep the best moments in our hearts forever, especially if we experience them with our family.
We probably have a lot of memories from when we were kids, like the get-togethers, the outings, and all the things our parents did to make us happy. However, there were also times when we didn’t see all the effort they put in to make us happy one more time.
Even if they had a hard job and little time to spend with us, they would go out of their way to be with us and have a good time together.
One such case has been seen on social media, where a picture of a boy with his father during a basketball game has caught the attention of users because of an important detail.
In the context of the University of Kentucky Blue-White game in Pikeville (USA) held at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on a Saturday, UK head basketball coach John Calipari noticed something interesting in the crowd and photographed it to share on his social media.
It was a little boy sitting next to his father, who’s a miner and was dressed in his uniform at the game, still covered in dirt. This brought back important memories for John of his family.
“My family’s American dream started in a Clarksburg, WV coal mine, so this picture hits home,” he said on Twitter, where he also recounted the reality of those in the photo.
“From what I’ve been told, after his shift, he raced to be with his son and watch our team. I don’t know who this is, but I have tickets for him and his family at Rupp to be treated as VIPs!” he added in the tweet. After the image made the rounds on social media, Mollie McGuire identified herself as the wife of the man named Michael.
