“He would say to me, ‘I’m going to wear this to your wedding.’ I was a teenager, and in those times, I would just roll my eyes and say, ‘Oh, okay, Dad,'” recalled Megan Becker-Towns, whose father kept the tie for 24 years.
The love a father shares with his children will never fade, no matter how much time passes. Even when they grow up, all the good times they had together in the past will still live on in their memories. It’s a bond that will last a lifetime.
That’s why parents are always with their little ones during important moments. Megan Becker-Towns, a 29-year-old who recently celebrated her marriage, couldn’t miss the presence of her father, Glenn Becker, by her side.

Everything was going as planned, but she wasn’t expecting a surprise that her old man had in store for her on that special day. According to Crescer magazine, the young woman’s father went to the ceremony with a special outfit that brought tears to the bride’s eyes.
In addition to the typical formal wedding attire, the man wore a paper tie that his daughter gave him when she was five years old. He, like a good father, kept it for 24 years, waiting for that special moment to arrive. However, the girl had no idea that her dad had kept it all this time.
When she saw him walk in with this tie around his neck, a lot of memories came rushing back to her and she couldn’t help but burst into tears.

“At that moment, he hung the tie on his bedroom mirror, where dust had accumulated over the years. He would dust it off and, again, say to me, ‘I’m going to wear this to your wedding.’ I was a teenager and, in those times, I would just roll my eyes and say, ‘Oh, okay, Dad,'” the young woman recalled.
However, the father kept his promise just as he had been telling his little girl for years, who was now all grown up. In fact, when her parents moved out, dad thought he’d lost the tie, leading his daughter to believe this. “Well, I don’t think you can wear that tie,” she had commented to him, but it wasn’t true.
