Pedro Figueiredo didn’t want to miss Agostinho’s important moment, so he started this journey on November 4 to arrive on time on the 27th of this same month.
Parents are capable of doing whatever it takes to make their children happy and to be present in every moment of their lives, especially when it comes to very important achievements.
Even if they are far away from them, they will try to travel through air, sea, and land to avoid missing this opportunity. Pedro Figueiredo, a 63-year-old father whose son Agostinho graduated from the Agulhas Negras Military Academy in the municipality of Resende, located in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), is a good dad. He organized an entire trip to be present at his ceremony.
The closing of this cycle is very important for both of them since Agostinho always wanted to enroll in the academy, but it took him three years to do so. That’s why Pedro made him the beautiful promise that he would travel by bicycle from his home located in Cachoeira Paulista, in the city of Sao Paulo, to be able to be present.

«My son went out of his way to be there. We live a humble life, and he always attended public school. He fought hard to get there. Now it’s my turn to work hard for him,» Pedro told Portal G1.
The graduation took place on November 27, and the road that unites is 870 miles long. However, his love for him will be the best engine to get him where he needs to be.
Pedro has had a lot of practice cycling. He assures that he’s been doing it for decades and spends six hours a day to get closer to him. He also takes the opportunity to get to know new places and do some sightseeing.

He doesn’t feel alone doing this since he’s part of a WhatsApp group with other cyclists with whom he shares his progress on the long journey that began on November 4. They also offer him lodging in their homes.
«This trip has shown me that people are still willing to help. People I don’t even know have welcomed me and transformed this tribute to my son to the greatest experience,» Pedro commented to Portal G1.

Agostinho will soon be sent to the city of Pará, where he will continue to grow professionally in his military career. He is also aware of the adventure that his father has had to go through to get to the graduation ceremony. He stays updated through social media and must feel like a very lucky son.
