They blame religion for making them live a life that wasn’t meant for them. Now, at 50 years old and after raising two children, they have decided to live openly gay lives.
Apparently, in the past it wasn’t easy to be homosexual, not only because of society, but also because of the family pressure. Many got married under those mandates, even when they didn’t feel good together. In reality, they just wanted to experience love with people of the same sex.
That is the case of Brad and Cyndi Marler, an «ordinary» couple, who were secretly homosexual. They didn’t express this in public to avoid problems with their religious families.

A few years after getting married, they decided to come clean about how they felt and while many would think there’d be problems, there weren’t any. They continued to support each other, hiding their same-sex feelings and even had a son and daughter together.
However, they knew it wouldn’t last forever, and now that they’ve reached their 50s, they’ve decided it’s time to be truly free and above all, true to themselves, as they told the Daily Mail.

The family, who were part of a small religious community in Illinois, decided to move to Chicago in separate apartments to explore their life as part of the LGBT community. The best part is that they are always supportive of each other, and even though everything is new, they get together from time to time to talk about those new experiences.
While they will always be a family, now is their time to discover what brings real pleasure to those parents who for so long didn’t express how they felt about the gender they really felt attracted to. Knowing that they are in a more open society, they feel complete and, best of all, they have the full support of their children, who were raised with all their love.

It is worth noting that this couple isn’t divorced. They don’t see being married as something that would prevent them from experimenting in their other interests.
They provided each other with support throughout their marriage and when they both revealed they were gay. They learned to live together in an atmosphere of respect. Even though they were united due to family pressure, they were always there for each other.
