«She wrapped her dog up and brought him to me on her back,» told the veterinarian, Ogün Öztürk, who’s from a small village in Turkey.
Little Cemre Su Türköz unfortunately had to face the news that her beloved dog, Pamuk, had fallen ill. In the middle of a snowstorm in Turkey, her best friend needed veterinary care as soon as possible. However, the weather didn’t favor her. There was so much snow that everything around her was snowed in. Still, she walked for 2.5 kilometers, despite the low temperatures and the large amounts of snow.

After a long walk with her dog on her back, this girl, desperate and very worried about her beloved doggy companion’s health, arrived at the veterinarian’s office. Ogün Öztürk was staying in a small town near her hometown after receiving a call from a client who’d asked him to examine his cow. Cemre had heard about him and, despite the adverse weather, decided to take a long walk to where this veterinarian was staying. The young man was about to take off when he saw a scene in the distance that caught his full attention: a girl who was barely able to walk with a puppy on her back.

«When I first saw them, I was very surprised and touched (…) She’d wrapped her dog up and brought him to me on her back (…) When Cemre heard that her dog would be fine, she was very happy (…) I applied external parasite medications to Pamuk. He is now enjoying himself again, healthy and happy (…) It made me very happy that an 8-year-old girl behaved in this way with such a loving heart (…) The fact that a person at such a young age exhibits this behavior gives hope to humanity (…) With all that’s going on in the world, there’s still hope. Cemre showed us that the only truth in the world is love».
– Ogün Öztürk told The Dodo–

This young veterinarian gladly agreed to take care of the little girl’s puppy. Little Pamuk behaved well at all times while his owner, Cemre, watched him.
Fortunately for both of them, this dog’s condition wasn’t as serious as she thought and only had some minor skin issues that were causing him discomfort, but nothing more serious than that. This discomfort could be treated, and Ogün helped do so.

After all this happened, this veterinarian returned with Cemre to the village where she resides. He proposed to stay there to check on Pamuk, as he felt it was the least he could do after all the effort she’d made.
