Despite his age, Don Armando goes out walking every day to sell his drawings. A young man who bought one of his works shared his story and asked for help.
Social media isn’t just a place to share funny videos to pass the time but also a platform for inspiring stories to help others. This was the case of Don Armando, who received attention thanks to the spread of his story.
Earning a living every day isn’t easy, especially for an elderly person. However, that money isn’t even for himself. Don Armando works to support his grandchildren and bring them, at least, a little milk.

The man, who lives in Guadalupe, Nueva León, Mexico, went viral after a young man saw him on the street and offered to buy a drawing from him.
The man was crying because he wanted to sell his drawings to buy milk for his grandchildren and had no money. «He was selling me the drawing of the little virgin for 20 pesos, and I gave him 100, and he started crying because he was happy,» the young man wrote on his social media.
Héctor Villanueva’s sweet post, in which he attached a video of the grandfather and the drawing he bought him, didn’t take long to go viral, and he took the opportunity to ask people to donate food, shoes and clothes to support Don Armando. He also invited them to buy a drawing from him.

Months later, an interview in which Armando Ramírez Obregó told his story was broadcast on social media. According to the story, he arrived at the age of six in the municipality where he currently lives. He later moved to Mexico City to study art at Bellas Artes. After that, he became a restorer.
Don Armando’s story inspires us not to ignore those who sell on the street for a reason. In this case, to feed his grandchildren.
