A barber passed by the traffic light and decided to show this young man all the beauty that was within him. Not only did he improve his appearance, he also improved his life.
They say that when we hit rock bottom, there is no other option but to go up. This is true although sometimes it’s necessary for someone to give us a hand. In the dark, it’s hard to see the light if someone doesn’t show it to you, a luck that a man from Sao Paulo, Brazil had when a hairdresser improved his look.
That man is Bruno Henrique Cassimiro Ramos, who lived on the streets and begged for money to buy food every day. Of course, in those conditions, taking care of looking good wasn’t something that mattered much to him.

Luckily, one day while he was begging, he passed by the stylist Leandro Matias, who decided he could do something for him; something that would change his life forever. «I was passing by a bank in the city and saw a young man at the traffic light. I soon thought of how I could help him. I called the man over and gave him my salon card. I told him to find me and that I would change his look,» he told Opovo about his first encounter.

Unfortunately, Bruno was a bit wary and didn’t show up at the salon. He wasn’t ready to get the makeover he had been offered and was spotted back at the usual traffic light.

So, the hairdresser decided to be more aggressive and looked for him in the abandoned house where he lived and took him to the beauty salon where he worked.
«Last Thursday morning, I went there and took him to the salon. I gave him a towel and soap and told him ‘go there and take the bath of your life.’ ‘ Then he put on my robe and had lunch. Then I highlighted his hair, cut it, exfoliated his face, and also did his eyebrows. At that moment, I was in shock. I couldn’t believe it was him.»

The truth is that this changed the life of the man who lived in the streets of Sao Paulo because, when he saw himself in the mirror, he knew that this was the person he always wanted to be. «I was in awe. I couldn’t believe it. When Leandro found me, it was what I needed. People get tired of humiliation. That wasn’t the real me, so I accepted the change,» he recounted.
