A miracle brought hope and faith, especially to those most affected by a natural disaster.

These last few days were difficult for the people of Louisiana, USA due to the devastating passage of Hurricane Ida. This was a category 4 hurricane, which means that its wind speeds were between 200 to 210 kilometers per hour and could cause damage such as 5-meter-high waves, coastal houses and roofs. Practically nothing would be saved, but in this episode, there was a particular situation. A statue of the Virgin Mary in a church wasn’t affected by this.

It was part of St. Hubert Catholic Church in Garyville, a town in Louisiana. The institution shared the impressive situation on their Facebook page. «Amid the damage to the trees, Our Lady stood as protection for our town of Garyville. Not a branch touched her as they fell all around her. Thank you, Mother Mary for interceding for us,» they wrote.

The post went viral. It’s been shared more than 4,000 times and has garnered more than 200 comments from believers, skeptics and atheists alike. In the same photo, Catholics have shown how their homes were saved and associate it directly with a religious miracle, for which they feel very grateful and reaffirm their faith more than ever, in addition to sending their best wishes to those affected to be able to move forward.

The consequences in Louisiana are terrible. From people who passed away and went missing to the loss of running water and power. They assure that the best thing to do for now is to stay away from the affected areas so that they can recover as soon as possible.

Coincidence or not, this will bring more faith to those affected who are believers. After all, each person decides what to hold on to in difficult times like this and it is best to respect that.
