The passenger had asked for a specific meal from the menu, but the flight attendant told him that he was entitled to the dish he had ordered along with his ticket. All of a sudden, tempers flared.

During long plane journeys, airlines make sure that their flight attendants are able to assist and attend to passengers, whether it be with food and beverage services or to be attentive to any kind of emergency.

However, there are times when passengers don’t understand that this is a service and that the workers who perform these tasks are also people who deserve respect.

Some people who travel by plane tend to belittle their work or even humiliate them if there is something they don’t like. A few days ago, such a situation occurred on the IndiGo airline, where a flight attendant and a passenger got into a heated argument.

According to information from India Times, passenger Gurpreet Singh Hans witnessed how a passenger behaved very rudely with the worker.

The passenger was angry with the flight company because he wanted to choose his meal from the menu, but the flight attendant explained to him that he could only choose the meal he had specified on his flight ticket.

This annoyed the man who treated her harshly and asked her to shut up in a violent manner. The stewardess lost her patience and started shouting at him. “I am an employee, not your servant,” the young woman replied, while one of her colleagues tried to calm her down.

The discussion reached the company itself, who released a statement for what happened. “We are aware of the incident that took place on flight 6E 12 from Istanbul to Delhi on December 16, 2022. The issue was related to meals chosen by certain passengers traveling via a codeshare connection,” they explained.

“IndiGo is cognizant of the needs of its customers and it is our constant endeavor to provide a courteous and hassle-free experience to our customers. We are looking into the incident and would like to assure that customers’ comfort has always been our top priority,” they added.


The video went viral, and most users defended the flight attendant’s actions, arguing that many times there were passengers and customers who felt they had the right to abuse the integrity of workers and mistreat them.
