This grandfather walked into a store in Oaxaca, Mexico, asking if they gave away used shoes but left saddened by the negative response. It was this worker, Michelle Hada Santiago, who bought him some shoes.
People who make a sacrifice for those they don’t even know without expecting anything in return are the unsung heroes that society needs. This is Michelle Hada Santiago, a department store worker who made a gesture of solidarity for a grandfather in a precarious situation.
In the Coppel Trujano store near the Zocalo in Oaxaca, southern Mexico, this saleswoman did something beyond her duties by helping this elderly man in a way he will never forget.

This poor grandfather came into the shop asking if by any chance they gave away used shoes because his shoes were already in deplorable condition. However, he was told that they didn’t, and so he left the store crestfallen, according to the Facebook page Chiapas Sin Censura.
However, when Santiago saw him in this condition, she didn’t hesitate to stop working to go and help him. «What did the man want?» asked the vendor, and when she found out what was going on, she acted immediately.

She herself bought him a pair of shoes on the spot and went over to give him the good news. «You will have new shoes,» she told him.

However, her action didn’t go unnoticed. Some of the customers who witnessed the event sympathized in the same way and helped in the purchase of footwear for the grandfather. Meanwhile, one of those present recorded the touching moment with a photograph when the grandfather received the shoes.

Although this happened in May 2019, it serves as an example of the selfless good deeds of many people to others who are going through a bad time. At the time, the story quickly went viral on social networks because of how touching it was. This worker won the hearts and applause of many.
