People from the gay community will be able to live a unique experience made just for them on board a luxurious ship that travels from Ushuaia, southern Argentina, to Antarctica.

The amount of innovative tourism proposals available to the thousands of people who are passionate about travelling and getting to know every last place in the world is increasingly growing, even offering destinations like Antarctica. However, not only that, one proposal takes a step further, offering an exclusive trip for the LGBTQ+ community.

This is the newest idea of Vacaya, a specialised agency, set to debut in December of 2022. This luxurious trip is designed solely for people belonging to the gay community.

The luxury ship, Le Boréal de Ponant, can carry a total of 264 passengers and is expected to begin its journey on December 6, 2022 and end it on December 17th. The trip will involve chilly temperatures as it will take passengers to Antarctica.

The complete route of this 100% LGBT cruise is as follows: the first night in Buenos Aires will visit the most representative attractions of the city’s culture, such as Recoleta Cemetery, San Telmo and the Government House. The following day, passengers will set off from Ushuaia’s port, in the south of Argentina, onboard the Le Boreal de Ponant, one of the most impressive ships in the world, which combines “luxury, intimacy and serene wellbeing”, according to the company’s official website.

The news outlet Hosteltur spoke with the director of the Argentina LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Pablo De Luca, who said:

“After some years of convincing the CEO of Vacaya to come to Argentina, a couple of years ago we managed to bring him to GNetwork360; and today half an hour ago, in the middle of a pandemic and as a sign of his confidence in our destinations, he has just announced on his networks the first 100% LGBT cruise from Argentina to Antarctica. Obviously, its journey starts and ends in Buenos Aires”.

This is all happening thanks to the insistence of Argentina’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce to provide exclusive opportunities for the gay community to feel part of a gathering centered around equality. The cruise will undoubtedly take place in 2022.

Let the rainbow flags fly!
