In the 21st century, there are still people who continue to criticize others’ appearance, believing that they have the right to comment on the body and clothing of others. This happened to a Brazilian girl named Paulina Carvalho, who’s a street sweeper in the city of Porto Velho.
A woman criticized her for being «too made up» just to sweep the streets. “She looked me up and down and said: ‘Wow, why are you so made up to work? You just sweep the floor and your face will end up so full of dirt, you won’t even be able to tell it apart from the powder on your face,’” Paulina wrote on her social networks.
Her response was filled with humility and simplicity, demonstrating that she not only cares about being well presented, but also about taking care of who she is on the inside.

She’s a fan of makeup and, like anybody in the world, she also likes to look good, pretty and well presented.
However, to the woman who criticized her, apparently, this isn’t acceptable because she’s just a «simple sweeper”.

Nonetheless, this absurd opinion only helped to bring out Paulina’s greatness. She responded with her head held high, with humility and good manners.
“My dear lady, the fact that I work with earrings, makeup and perfume has nothing to do with my profession. The important thing for me is that I’m fair in life and that I’m not a bad person who dedicates her time worrying about someone else’s life.”
The young woman replied.

Your profession doesn’t define you. Although dress code is important in many jobs, in life, that’s left up to personal choice.
“I have a humble education, which comes from birth. I could’ve treated her the same way but because of her age, I respected her. We offer what we have. I offered her my kindness. ”
