At 56 years old, Lonni Pike has become famous on TikTok for the highlights in her gray hair and tattoos. For this woman, age is just a number and style is her passion.

One of the most wonderful changes that society has gone through in recent years is that how we are identified is no longer written in stone. This has a great impact on people who’ve felt excluded from traditional definitions. Categories such as being a man or a woman, young or old, or this or that, are no longer relevant: now each person can define his or her identity as he or she pleases, without the fear of being silenced by some authority or other person with power.

Now, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t people who find this problematic. Likewise, there are no limits regarding the social media accounts that these people can create.

That’s what Lonni Pike, a woman in her 50s, discovered. She’s become a hit on TikTok for posting the way she defines and lives her life. What makes Lonni so appealing is the encouragement and positivity she has to show that age for her is just a suggestion.

What separates Lonni from other women who might find themselves in a similar situation is that instead of denying the passage of time with surgeries and aesthetic changes, she accepts her age. What she doesn’t accept, however, are the definitions that are supposed to go along with it.

Like her TikTok account name suggests, Lonni has gray hair and tattoos. Aging and youthfulness coexist in her body, and she’s happy about this.

In one of her videos, Lonni responded to someone who asked her if she wasn’t a little too old to be dressed like a teenage girl. Not only was she able to put this person in her place without any major problems, she also did it with all the style in the world. This is what her entire message says:

“I don’t respond to comments like this one very often because, truthfully, I don’t care what people think. But it does stop some people from dressing the way they want to. It puts that seed of doubt in their mind of like, “Oh my god are people going to judge me? So, in honor of, I dunno, dressing like a teenager, here’s my outfit for the day. Wear what you want!”

The confidence that Lonni radiates is just as important as her combination of a short t-shirt and Doc Martens.

For many people, she’s been a beacon of hope, and the 1.8 million views her video has received proves this.
