«For our peace of mind and sanity, we use leashes,» said Jordan Driskell, who along with his wife Briana, welcomed quintuplets in 2017.

Leashes for children have been a topic of debate since they were invented, with some people in favor of using them to keep little ones «controlled» and others who compare this to treating children like “little animals”.

A new case has spread across the internet about leashes after a father posted about a walk he was taking with his five children, in which he showed them all connected through this device.

Jordan Driskell fathered quintuplets with his wife, Briana, in 2017. Now, the little ones are older, and as a result, they tend to run around. For that reason, these parents decided to incorporate leashes into their routine.

«Kids are so curious, they want to run off and explore,» Jordan, 31, told TODAY Parents. «For our own peace of mind and sanity, we use a leash. It also allows us to leave the house and do fun stuff as a family without being stressed.»

While Zoey, Dakota, Hollyn, Asher, and Gavin’s parents tried walking with a six-seater car, it became more of a hassle. «It was too bulky and ridiculous to take anywhere,» Jordan said. «The other thing is that they want to walk when we go somewhere crowded. A leash gives them the opportunity to do that but we’re still in control. They love it.»

Of course, the debate was reignited, and many criticized Jordan for showing himself on a trip to an aquarium walking his children on a leash. While the video is from last year, it was only now that it became highly publicized.

“They’re humans, not dogs», «Can’t you just train your kids right? Explain to them why it’s dangerous to run away?», «Don’t have so many kids if you can’t handle the pressure», «That’s wrong. If you can’t handle that many kids, don’t have them in the first place,» were some of the comments against him.
