«When my younger siblings questioned, ‘Why is your dad mowing mom’s lawn?’ I told them, ‘Because, she needed help, and he knew she couldn’t get out here to do it, so he did,'» the girl wrote.
Not all divorces are civil. Many relationships end because of infidelity, lies, exhaustion, and a variety of other reasons that generate bitterness in some ex-partners. However, when children are involved, you should be as mature as possible and set an example for them to treat each other with respect.
Although most of the time it’s hard to separate things…
A couple of years ago, an interesting photo went viral on social media, sparking a lot of comments and reactions from users, who were amazed by an ex-couple who continued to interact with each other despite having been divorced for quite a few years.

According to the former couple’s eldest daughter, Codie LaChelle, her parents had been divorced for 28 years at the time but still maintained a respectful relationship with each other, especially for their children’s sake, whom they are raising to someday become kind adults.
«This is my dad, mowing my mom’s lawn. They’ve been divorced 28 years. My mom has bad knees, and my stepdad works out of town. When my younger siblings questioned, ‘Why is your dad mowing mom’s lawn?’, I told them, ‘Because, she needed help, and he knew she couldn’t get out here to do it, so he did,» the girl wrote in the post that quickly went viral.
According to Codie’s own words, it’s all because they both want to show their children – even those who are 32 years old like her – how people should be treated and how family should love, no matter if a relationship has ended.

«My dad said he didn’t do this for the recognition. He said my mom and he decided when they were going through their divorce they would both choose to be adults and treat each other with respect and compassion, because no matter how their marriage ended, they both loved each other very much at one point, and that, that love – counts for something. That if they were going to raise their children to be good, kind people, they needed to be good, kind people,» she explained.
What a role model!
