“So I just hired this young girl and this was her response” was the caption accompanying the video shared by the her new boss on social media.
Unemployment has to be one of the worst situations a person can find themselves in. Not having enough money to make ends meet, or facing the constant pressure of knowing that every day, another 24 hours will go by without the security offered by a stable job, are without a doubt some of the worst things a person can go through. Even more so if there is a family depending on them. And worst of all, if it occurs in the middle of a pandemic, which is causing an economic crisis on a global scale.
Maybe that’s why so many of us empathized so strongly with the young girl’s (who goes by Kay Kay) happy reaction to being hired. She got a job in the middle of one of the most difficult periods in modern history and when she got the news she couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by dancing in the parking lot outside. The moment was caught on video by security cameras and was later uploaded to social media by Kay Kay’s new boss, who goes by Dakara Spence on Instagram. “So I just hired this young girl and this was her response” she wrote in the post she shared on Instagram.
In the video the girl can be seen walking calmly in the parking lot before taking a quick look behind her and beginning to dance. A happy way of celebrating after being hired by The Spot Sports Bar and Grill in Decatur, Georgia, despite not yet knowing exactly what her new role would entail. There’s no doubt that she will be one of The Spot’s most passionate employees.
Kay Kay later heard that she had gone viral online and only found out about it when people called her to tell her what had happened. She regards her new manager as a “blessing” and is very optimistic about what her new job has in store for her. The video has more than 20 million views on TikTok, something that she initially found hard to believe. “What? You’ve got to be kidding me! I need to see that for myself” was her reaction after finding out about her dance’s success. And we sincerely hope that she is just as successful, if not more so, in her new position.
