In the past, it was something only men did, but thanks to changing attitudes, many women have now been able to enter and excel in this sport, which draws huge crowds everywhere.
A while back, an important match was taking place between the women’s national teams of Chile and Venezuela. It was already the 36th minute, and neither team had scored a goal, but both were running hard across the field to try to turn the score in their favor.
However, the game had to be suspended because of an intruder who ran onto the field… a playful little Labrador puppy running all over the place. But the dog didn’t just want to burn off some energy; he wanted to be petted.
So he quickly approached the Chilean goalkeeper. “The little dog wants to take a picture with Tiane Endler—we’d all love to be that little dog,” the game commentator said with a laugh. “He’s cuddling up to our captain and turning his back so she can pet him,” replied the other female commentator.
After a few seconds, two players tried to take him away, but the mischievous dog tricked them and ran in the opposite direction, causing an outburst of laughter among the spectators. “We can’t continue the game because this dog is harder to mark than all the opponents on the field,” joked one of the commentators.
The fun was over for the dog shortly after, though, as two girls picked him up and took him away. Still, it seems to have been enough for him, since he left looking happy.
