Annie Tran is a content creator who often signs up for sporting events, mainly marathons. One notable race she participated in was held in Tokyo, where, around the 32-kilometer mark, she was running out of energy and debated whether to continue or drop out of the race.

Despite her exhaustion, Annie seemed to have the key to getting the energy she needed, surprising everyone with her secret: She pulled out a disposable toothbrush and started brushing her teeth right in the middle of the race, which incredibly helped her make it to the finish line.

When asked why she did that, Tran said, “It brought me back to life!” She also mentioned that she had done this in previous marathons, sparking curiosity among users about whether it actually works or not.

According to various scientific studies on performance in long-distance events, rinsing your mouth mid-race to refresh yourself can alter the perception of fatigue, improving physical performance, so the video of Annie and her marathon may be great advice for overcoming fatigue.

RUNNING HACK: THIS BROUGHT ME BACK TO LIFE!! 🦷🪥 my friend @_angelavv_ put me on these during a long work event and I was skeptical at first about the whole “no water/rinse” situation but I was obsessed immediately and decided to buy it for long travel days. THEN I THOUGHT.. WAIT!!! What if I packed one for race day…?!?! And OMG IT. WAS. AMAZING. Every runner knows that mile 20 is where we have to dig deep and find what little energy we have left. After brushing my teeth, I felt revived and refreshed!!!!!! Every breath I took was cold/icy/minty air and the mild shock to my system helped me wake up and LOCK IN!! I don’t think I could ever race without it again!! Look up “disposable toothbrushes” on Amazon!! 🙂 Let me know if you try it 🙂 ttokyomarathonrrunningtipsrrunningessentialsggirlswhorunworldmajormarathon
