The 35-year-old secured victory with 56.4% of the vote, defeating former Social Democratic Party mayor Dieter Reiter in the run-off. Krause celebrated the win by kissing his fiancé, Sebastian Müller, after thanking “the love of my life, without whom all of this would not have been possible.” Sharing the moment on Instagram, he wrote: “Munich, you are simply insane!
